Acquiescence

More on Danish imam pot-stirring at The Weekly Standard, "Oh The Anguish". A good article for most part, with lots of sarcasm (which of course, I enjoy) except I disagree with Bill Kristol on one point:

"This is a moment of truth in the global struggle against Islamic extremism."

Actually, I don't think so. How many cars were burninated in France? How many people were blown up in the London Underground? I don't know how much insanity from the Middle East it's going to take for the world to finally stop hitting the snooze button on the alarm clock of Islamic extremism, but if 9/11 didn't do it, I don't think that the Cartoon Jihad is going to do it, either.

I'll have to agree with you on the "wake up call". In certain quarters people are still trying to justify everything as a misunderstanding.

That misunderstanding is on the part of those who don't realize these folks want our way of life abolished.

And the misunderstanding is also on the part of people who don't realize they not only want to abolish "our way of life" they want to abolish "us". The want to blow us up. They want to cut off our heads. To these folks who don't "understand" all I have to say is this: "DUH!"

"...burninated?" You're better than Shakespeare. He also made up words.

Robo: I concur with you; it's "something," but it's not "everything." Merely another step in the Islamists' path.

I still fear that even a series of bombings on US soil may not make us come around -- not until our sons and daughters are killed in Middle America's malls by homicide bombers, or a dirty bomb causes certain portions of a city to become uninhabitable for the next 10,000 years.

I am getting hit by a low-intensity troll right now who thinks that diplomacy can fix it all. Some will never git it.

You want a moment of truth?

How many moments of truth did the government promise me last year? Ten? A hundred? A thousand? Let me tell you, I didn't get a single moment of truth from anyone or anything. And I get along just fine. So don't quote moments of truth to the Taker of Gist, for Gistology is all about the truth.

Small kernels of truth make up 60% of all Gist, you know.

Two words: pure Gist.

It's all in the constitution, my good blopotopian.

Myself, I don't have time to read constitution and buy shovels and such. I'm too busy forcing my employees to work at the ol' Gist mill. They hate it, because the hours are long, the pay is below minimum wage, and the conditions are hazardous. Also, I get exclusive rights to their souls.

But it all works out at the end of the day, because even the most insubordinate worker just has to take away a sense of satisfaction from just looking at the piles of Gist we all instantiated.

My kingdom is desperately in need of what you term "Gist."

For you see, our own Gist stores were depleted during the great war in which the Frozen Lower Blogosphere was merged into Roboshrub Inc.

Thousands of serfs were driven from their lands, and all the Gist was lost.

So, how much for ten barrels?

Gist is a nonprofit industry. You can't just expect me to turn over a sizeable quantity to you! I have no way of knowing how you'll use it!

Gist has been known to topple kingdoms, sire.

Correct; if they won't respond to the threat before; it won't happen now.

I agree with Gayle. They want to abolish us, too! And the fact that they're now going after Christians and Americans because of Danish cartoons shows they don't need much of a reason.
